Blog Tour & Book Review: Destiny Rising
This is my stop during the blog tour for Destiny Rising by Siobhan Davis. This blog tour is organized by Lola’s Blog Tours. The blog tour runs from 1 till 21 September, you can view the complete tour schedule on the website of Lola’s Blog Tours.
This series contains 3 books: True Calling (True Calling #1), Beyond Reach (True Calling #2) and Destiny Rising (True Calling #3). And two novella’s: Lovestruck (True Calling #0.5) and Light of a Thousand Stars (True calling #2.5).
ashley | The third installment in Siobhan Davis’ True Calling Trilogy, Destiny Rising, picks up where things left off and doesn’t ease up. Ari and Cal are safely away from Novo, Ari’s discovered her mother is dead, her childhood love Zane has been left behind and her father is actually alive. The team of rebels is quickly banding together to stand up against the corrupt government back on Novo, dividing their team into different assignments that will further their cause.
This division sends Ari to Greece to explore her psychic abilities, which I thought was a really great opportunity for this storyline, but all this really did was just removed Ari from the first half of the book and focused solely on Zane and Cal and how they were both missing her. There was some character growth and you got to know these characters much more, but I thought this would have been a great opportunity to explore some of Ari’s gifts and let HER character grow, instead of building more on the love triangle between them all.
That said, when Ari returns and her gifts begin to show themselves, they really are something to be amazed by. The last half of the book where the battle between Earth and Novo takes place is a pretty intense and quick ride and I have to say, I quite liked where everything ended up.
It might be a little too clean cut and neat, but after sticking with these characters for three books and seeing everything they’ve gone through, man it’s nice to see them catch a break in the end.
